Description

High capacity at 3.6 V

The Akyga® AKY2834 Li-Ion battery pack is based on four INR18650 cells connected in parallel. The 1S4P configuration means that the rated voltage of the entire pack is 3.6 V, whilst the capacities of the cells add up to 12,800 mAh. Such a battery can extend the operating time of equipment without increasing its supply voltage. The voltage does not rise as the capacity increases, so the battery continues to power a 1S circuit. Greater capacity means less frequent charging.

How does a 1S4P pack work?

The number 1S denotes a single series section, whilst 4P indicates four cells in parallel. All cells operate at the same voltage, sharing the current between them. As a result, 1S4P packs can provide greater capacity and better performance than a single-cell battery.

PCM protection for Li-Ion cells

The built-in PCM circuit protects the battery against overcharging, over-discharging, overloading and short circuits. These safeguards enhance safety and help preserve the service life of the cells. The battery requires a charger designed for Li-Ion packs, with a cut-off voltage of 4.2 V. The PCM does not control the entire charging process and is not a substitute for a suitable charger.

175 mm cable with Cvilux connector

The battery pack is fitted with a 175 mm cable and a 2-pin Cvilux connector. This makes it easier to connect the battery to a device. Before installation, you must check the polarity, connector type, dimensions and height of the pack, as well as the required current. These parameters must match the equipment’s specifications.

Where can Li-Ion packs be used?

These packs are suitable for consumer electronics and for use in emergency power supply systems. Their application depends on the required voltage, power and current draw. A battery for power tools or e-cigarettes may have a completely different maximum current, protection circuits and cell type. Therefore, rechargeable batteries and ready-made packs are not interchangeable simply because they use the 18650 format. The battery’s operating temperature should remain within the range of -20°C to 60°C. A Li-Ion battery must be protected from damage and charged in accordance with the specifications.
